ESAU’S HAIRY HANDS

ESAU’S HAIRY HANDS
Daggers in smiles
Velvets on nail beds
Death warrant with lover’s pen
The mouth I fed
The skin I clothed
Chopped off my fingers
Wrapped me up with thorns
The shoulders I leaned on
His chest, my headrest
He returned stealthily
As my Achilles heel

Bloody hands pierced my back
Dark figure from the shadows came
Parted lips pressed to my cheek
(As) reddened knife plucked through my ribs

Blood flood out my heart chambers
Sweat of shock dropped my brow
I whispered the devil’s name under my breath
He grinned, winked and walked along

[FLASHBACK]

The wolf had come with skin of sheep
The deadly snake like a harmless worm
He unlocked my arms, my room and heart
Tongue of gall honey-mixed
In sync, our hearts had beat as one
Hand in hand we strode away
Reasons and thoughts left behind
I poured my dreams and goals to him
Along trusted lone boulevard
Fist-sized, still beating

Fragile as egg, I wrapped it up,
My bone as quil, blood as ink
“Take my heart” stamped with smiles
Hairy hands stretched out fast
That was Esau’s, I can’t be wrong
But the voice that echoed “I love you”
Could only be Jacob’s, I swear.

[PRESENT DAY]
He shattered it all
On the rocks of deceit
My heart, my hope
My dreams and goals
Used, washed and wasted
An empty shell, a homeless child
Bruised and ragged
Torn and pierced
Now in pieces, what’s left of me.

With wavering steps, I found my way
Back to the cross, up the hill
Weary, distressed, with feet as lead
He ran to me and picked me up
Kissed my neck and dried my tears

His scarred hands instantly set to work
Fixed the puzzle
Set the bricks
A new Me emerged in glorious hope
With boundless joy and endless bliss
My ashes traded for His beauty
I’ve found a friend that never fails
JESUS-my Lord, my Rock and King!

He can heal the broken heart, He only needs you to give ALL the pieces back to HIM.
